Applicants must be based in the North West at the time of entry and award presentation.
Applicant information will be treated as confidential and will not be used for any purpose other than judging for the E3 Business Awards.
Applicants can enter a maximum of 3 Award categories.
Entries will be judged by a panel of eminent and impartial adjudicators.
Winners will be announced at the E3 Business Awards Dinner on Thursday 13th July 2017, held at the Macron Stadium in Bolton. We encourage all finalists to attend the evening with their team / colleagues to celebrate business success. To book your place, please visit our booking page.
Any answers that exceed the word count will not be included as part of your entry. With the exception of the Business Overview (150 words), all other questions have a 250 word entry limit.
All finalists must attend the judging panel interviews taking place on the 16th or 17th or 18th May 2017. Unfortunately if you, or a representative from the business cannot attend, your application will automatically be disqualified from the process.
On the day of the judging panel interviews, all finalists will be required to take part in the following:
1. Judging panel interview - This will comprise a 5 minute verbal presentation about your business followed by a 10 minute informal interview by the judges.
2. Production of a 60 second video clip about your business and your reason for entering the awards. Examples of previous finalists can be found here. These videos will be used for the evening, social media and the website.
3. Professional photography (for the magazine, website, social media and other relevant marketing channel). See previous examples here.
The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The winners will be the businesses that, in the opinion of the judges, demonstrate the greatest fulfilment of the category criteria.
Award winners may state in advertising/ promotional activity and on their stationery that they are a winner but this must state the category and the year in which the award was won.
All finalists and winners consent to take part in PR and publicity relating to the E3 Business Awards; the appointed PR agency will contact all finalists to gather individual information and quotes for future press releases and features.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)
How do I enter?
To enter, you will need to complete the Nomination Form available here and by answering all the criteria for the award category you are entering. The judging criteria can be found here.
What do I need to include in my entry?
Each entry must address the specific judges' criteria outlined against each category.
The judges may request documentary evidence - facts and figures to back up your claim. These can include the latest sets of audited accounts (young companies should submit as many years as possible) and some projection of next year's performance.
Entries for some categories may benefit from additional information. For example if you are entering the Business of the Year Award feel free to include some glowing testimonials from suppliers.
How many award categories can a business enter?
Each business can apply for a maximum of 3 award categories.
Will my entry be returned to me?
The E3 Business Awards regrets that entries are non-returnable, so please do not include any original documentation.
Will entries be treated confidentially?
Yes. All entries and information submitted to the E3 Business Awards are treated in the strictest of confidence. Financial information is seen only by the judging panel.
Is there a fee to enter the awards?
No. Entering the E3 Business Awards is free of charge.
Do I have to pay for a seat even if I am a registered charity?
All Registered Charities, Social Enterprises and Community Interest Companies (C.I.C) that have been shortlisted as a finalist for an award will qualify for one complimentary ticket to the awards dinner. Any additional tickets will be charged at normal rate (£145 plus VAT per seat).
Can more than one person attend the interview and video filming?
Unfortunately, the interview and video filming are restricted to one person only. A maximum of 5 people can attend to take part in the photo shoot.
Will there be a laptop and dat projector available at the interviews to do a short presentation?
As finalists are only allocated 5 minutes for the presentation, we do not provide or recommend using any equipment as the set up will reduce your interview time.
Can you provide me with a list of questions the judges will ask?
The judges will base their questions on your company, nomination entry and presentation so there is no pre-prepared list.
Where do I send my entry?
All entries can be either submitted online (firstname.lastname@example.org) or posted to us at the following address: 1 Events Media
C/O E3 Business Awards, Events Co-ordinator
The Business Development Centre, Eanam Wharf, Blackburn, BB1 5BL
